About Louise
Louise was born in Bristol and started dancing at her local ballet school at the age of 4. She was awarded a schollarship with the R.A.D age 10 and went to The Royal Ballet School, White Lodge Richmond Park at age 12.
She was picked by The Sadler's Well's Royal Ballet (now Birmingham Royal Ballet) at 17 where she went on a 9 week foreign tour with them to North and South America with Sleeping Beauty. Later on the tour she was asked to step in to a solo artist's role in Paquita at late notice which proved a great success!
The same year she also went on tour with the same company to Vancouver and Israel as well as performing at the Royal Opera House.
Louise later joined The English National Ballet (then London Festival Ballet) and danced many soloist roles, her favourites being the Spanish pas de trois with 2 boys in Peter Schaufuss production of The Nutcracker. One of the 2 whores in The Taming of the Shrew, one of the 'friends' in Coppelia Romeo and Juliet and Manon and one of the famous 4 Cygnets in Swan Lake.
Tired of living out of a suitcase and being away from London too often Louise auditioned for The National Theatre production of Carousel the musical, where she was asked to come back for the singing part of the audition...not fancying her chances she didn't show up, but heard that the late Sir Kenneth McMillan himself had missed her! Of course she then got in touch, had a private audition and got the part!
This meant lots more free time, twice as much money, no touring and lots of fun!!
Louise currently lives in Clifton in Bristol after many years living in West London where she is enjoying teaching Adult Ballet to an ever increasing fan base.
She held her first adult ballet and ballates retreat in Majorca over Easter in 2015 and has held several since on a beautiful Greek Island.
She is now offerring weekend ballet retreats in Devon.
